As part of the logistics team, I played a role in securing resources for organization projects and events. From collaborating with different departments to planning budgets, I sourced supplies and kept an eye on deadlines.
And then came the magic - the events themselves! I'll never forget the electrifying energy of Cultural Night where I had to sing in hundreds of crowds while Indonesian music filled the air and the crowds cheering. Witnessing the team's hard work culminate in such a beautiful celebration of our culture was truly special.
But it wasn't just about the big nights. Representing the organization at university-wide events gave me a platform to share our heritage and build bridges with the wider community. Every time I donned my batik shirt and proudly explained the meaning of its intricate patterns, I felt a surge of pride in my identity.
And of course, there were the team outings - trips to famous destinations and barbeque nights fueled with games and foods of the delicious Ayam goreng and Indomie. These moments solidified the bonds we shared, creating a supportive and dynamic organization for me that made every challenge feel conquerable.
Looking back, I realize that being part of the Indonesian student organization wasn't just about checking boxes on a resume. It was about growth, resilience, and discovering the power of community. I walked away with not only valuable skills in resource management, communication, and event planning, but also a deep appreciation for the team to make the organization feels like home for the international students.
